It is just a name I have used on other Forums & I added the 51 because that is what I need right now. I have been shooting since the 1940's & I still enjoy mostly handguns & shooting. Back in the 1950's & 60's I collected Civil War revolvers & carbines. That was when you could buy a nice Colt or Remington for $90.

I have always liked PPK's since I bought pre war ones for $35 & new post war PPK's for $60. I still like to shoot them, especially the little 32. I am hoping the new R 51 will be easy to rack & have a lighter recoil because old wrists don't work as well as they used to.

I read that thread on TTAG by Nick Leghorn & just got mad that a writer could screw up so badly. I also read ramworks.net reviews by Richard Mann & knew I had found a writer who knew what he was talking about. What a nice guy & good writer he is. He blew TTAG out of the water.

tomon is my initials and the first three letters of my last name. I didn't capitalize it, because I don't need the ego boost. The dancing banana is just there to make you smile! I really DO believe my signature post!

Screen name is derived from Johnny Reb. I haven't figured out how to add an avatar yet.

I spoke too soon. Found the user control panel. Now I need to find my avatar.
I chose Peter Griffin because I laugh like him, so my wife says, and I like the show.

Mine is a combination of things. One, it's a word I've always liked plus my favorite number "8". Also, my favorite rock band (the Scorpions) which will give you clues about my age. I use the same name on lots of other forums, so if you run into me elsewhere, say "hi!".

Oh, forgot about the flag, "First to Fight". My Polish heritage leaps out. Poles held out against invaders on both sides, German and Russian and Allies that didn't come to help. They held out longer than the French, who had support.

Yes they did, and the free Polish forces that fought for the remainder of the war fought with tenacity along side the allies. Poor Poland. The make some good handguns there too. ;)

There, I am the senior Administrator, and My user name is Psyc0....simply reversed the p and s.

I'll find an avatar soon, but right now, I have the matter to attend to, of which I posted earlier today.
It is, what it is..........

Hi all,

I chose a nickname a while ago that had the same initials as my real name. RD is my initials. Also I like electronics, hence the DIODE ;) Then it was just choosing something with an 'r'.. So nothing special, but I like it :)

Thanks,

The avatar is pretty straightforward. I retired at the rank of Major in 1997. My screen name comes from my two kids. They named me after the TV show "Major Dad" that was popular some 20 years or more ago.

My Avatar is of the reason I got into reloading. I inherited this Civil War carbine in 2005 and I'm a believer that if you own it you should be able to shoot it. After research I found Dixie gun works were I could get brass, as this is a cap fired brass cartridge gun. Then I found a local gun shop that specialized in black powder and he showed me how to reload for the Maynard 50. The rest is history.

I was given the name Kokopelli back around 1970 somewhere in the deserts of Arizona, Utah and New Mexico. I spent a lot of time there roaming cliff dwellings, holy places, lost stuff, etc... I truly love the place. I have very long (hippy) hair in those days, so I was known as the "Long Haired Kokopelli". The AR was added a few (very) later.. It's all stayed with me through the years... Cheers.. Ron

I found the site while researching fixes for Rem. 597 troubles. This is the first forum of any kind I have joined.(Recluse) 50+ yoa. Have been shooting since a child. Interests/hobbies include: Guns and shooting obviously, prospecting, mining/dredging, hiking/camping, history, geology, treasure hunting, metal detecting, making beer, cheese and smoked meats. Pretty much all the things tree huggers and the government don't want you to do anymore. Don't hunt much the last few years as I have been focused on gold mining.

Living in N. Idaho where the general attitude is very pro-guns and pro-hunting/outdoors. Beautiful country. The site looks to be very active and well managed. Hello to all and hope I can find an answer to some of my 597 questions.
