Hi all, I inherited my father’s model 721, in .270 caliber, built in 1953. Dad bought it after he got out of the service. I bought a box of the cheapest factory ammo around, and took it to the range where it proceeded to shoot sub moa!

My thought is to have it for my grandchildren to use. I think it will be very cool to have the grandkids harvest an animal with their great-grandfather’s rifle. I’m thinking about restocking with a Remington synthetic stock. Would I use a model 700 ADL? I know I’d need to do some minor fabrication on the bolt handle area. Would I need any other parts to make this work?

Also, does anyone have a 721 owner’s manual in electronic form?

Thank you all for your assistance with this classic rifle!

Kudos to having a great plan. My experience is that with the obsolete Remington products if you e-mail their customer service center, https://www.remington.com/support/reach-us, they will e-mail you a PDF scan of the owners manual. They did that for a 788 that I used to have.

Not sure that a 700-stock will fit a 721, but I could be wrong. A question is "why?" unless you just want to save the wood stock. But you can search online like eBay or GunBroker for a used 700 stock (is it ADL or BDL?) and try. The 700 synthetic stock is very light and pretty inexpensive. Again, you might as Remington customer service.

Oh, and pics! Pics or it never happened!

Wonder if Boyd's might have something if necessary?
