Got my first deer with the ADL in 308. My Nephew had text me a few minutes before that he saw a shooter head in me direction.
Came right in to me at spear chucking distance. I was using Winchester xtream point ammo. Heart shot, he piled up near my stand.

Man I miss hunting the hardwoods. The forests and muskegs (cute word for "swamp bog") up here are for crap.

This is by far my favorite time of year around here. I would like to travel up north sometime and see Alaska in person.

I'm a PA/VA guy, who settled up here. Be careful what you wish for. It's quack-like-a-duck season here in the South East rainforest, hasn't stopped raining in, well, almost 3 weeks now. And the woods ain't nothing like a good ol' PA hard woods forest. Everything has it's pro's and con's.....
