Anyone had any luck in finding a Saddle Mount that will fit the M887 ?? I've looked and called everywhere I can think of. I really love this weapon but it looks as if tho I may have to trade it in for something else ...

I will get in touch with Vang Comp and see if they have any interest in releasing a kit for the Remington Model 887.

Any news yet DHonovich on a saddle mount ?? It looks like I might have to drill and tap this weapon or trade it in ...

I have not heard back from them yet but I will try again today for you. Have you looked into other options for holding more shells on the Remington Model 887?
You lost me with this one .... or was this even meant for me .. ![]() |
I was meaning like using a shell cuff holder on your stock.
I'm good as gold as far as shell storage ... ![]() I'm just in need of a Saddle Mount for my Bushnell Trophy Red Dot Scope for Turkey hunting ... I'm in total Aww that no munufacturer produced/marketed one for the M887 by now ... ![]() |
Looks as if I will be having my M887 drilled and tapped. NOT my first opition but it seems to be my only one do to the lack of scope mounting systems out there ... I really like this shotgun but I do have second thoughts on not getting the trusted 870 just because of the lack of accessories for the M887 and lack of response to inquiries of available products or when they may be expected on the market ...

Im surprised as well that no aftermarket companies sell a side saddle for the m887. They could kill the market if someone would come up with more parts for the M887. let use know how the surgery goes on your gun.
OK, now I don't know if I should cry or puke ...
![]() ![]() Sorry to say, I'm really regretting in my choice of shotguns ... HEY !! Remington want to trade me a 887 thats already drilled and tapped ??? I'm going to go and cry now ... ![]() |
You could try an talk to Remington's custom shop to do the drilling for you. It might be a little more but im sure you wouldn't have any problems with it after. I'm still shocked that no other gunsmith with tap the receiver for you.
You and me both .... From what I gather is they don't know enough about the coating to take a chance on drilling through it. I wouldn't have a problem with shipping it to the custom shop for drilling and tapping, but I'm sure it would cost me an arm and leg to have them do it. I'm at a loss as what to do next .. ![]() |

Well good news for a change ,,, found a gunshop willing to drill and tap my 887 ,, only thing is he's abit pricey. Hey if he's good it's worth it IMHO ... will show some pics when she's out of surgery and set up for this upcoming Turkey season ...

Glad to hear you were finally able to find a shop willing to drill and tap your Remington Model 887. Keep us updated.
Well the surgery went very well, and didn't cost what was quoted (CHEAPER) here's some pics of the after effects ....
![]() ![]() ![]() Now all I need to do is introduce her to some Turkeys ... ![]() |
That came out good. Im glad that you were able to find someone to drill and tap it and for a price that was cheaper then the original is a plus

I have reviewed the LaserLyte MBS-1 and MBS-PAK system over on our sister site www.MossbergOwners.com It has worked great to zero in my firearms. |
THANKS for the info, I'm definately going to consider this laser bore sighter ... ![]() |
It is a really great product. Great tool to have with you for hunting as well just in case you drop your shotgun and fear your sight is now off.
Time to save my pennies and get me one ....

Anyone hear anything about magazine tube extensions for the 887? I looked into the Nordic Components (NC) extensions but they do not (yet) make them for the 887 and apparently the 870 extensions aren't compatible.
I have not see any available magazine extensions but I will talk to ATI and Nordic Components.
