i tried the extension off of the tac 4 and didnt work , if i was actually going to use it i think it could be made to work but i just wanted to see if it would fit. the problem is it has a fixed washer/nut on the one for the tac 4 and not enough clearance on the 887.......so im almost sure the nordic will work , it has more of a barrel type nut on it.think im going to roll the dice on the nordic.

Sounds like a plan. If you need any pictures of the Vang Comp or ATI one for a 870, I have them that I can take for you.

Hi,
I contacted Remington about a rifled barrel and scope mount for the M887 and here is what they sent me: Response (Ben) 06/09/2011 08:34 AM
A rilfed barrel is available. Part F302583 is a 22 inch fully rifled barrel with rifle sights $245 . F300063 is the part number for a weaver scope mount. You will also need three screws part F301895 for the installation.
You may contact our parts department at 1800-243-9700 to order these parts.
Thank you for contacting Remington.

By the way, I found the rifled barrel for $192 at tjgeneralstore.com

Hope this helps,
Kilmadrine

Wanted to share the response I received from Mesa tactical (last month) on my inquiry regarding plans for a side saddle for the 887:

"Hello,

The Project has been aborted, we tried many different avenues prior to giving up. There's no way to make this work on this particular platform.

Wish we can be more helpful...

Thanks,"

Any updates on ANY accessories for the 887? I haven't heard or seen anything. I love mine, I'm dying to dress her up.

I can see where they are coming from. I tried everything i possibly could think of, but theres simply no way to make a side saddle work well on this platform, they are correct, theres just no room.

However mag extension is easy to do, and i've heard 870 pistol grip stocks will fit with some drilling - i'll make a how-to on the 870->887 stocks as soon as i get mine done.

How can you cycle that? Forend would seem to collide with the side saddle unless you also put on a different forend...?

Good to hear!

I tried to fit a saddle but ended up having to use a spacer between the saddle and the receiver and wasnt able to make it look even remotely good, but that looks good!

Definetly getting one when you complete it!

I'm looking to have a scope mounted onto my Remington 887 gun for deer hunting with the rifled barrel, I found a gunsmith that will drill and tap the gun but what part do I need to order. I see that the tactical model comes with a picatinny rail, would this work?

I just got one of the bore sightseers that are a laser in an aluminum shot shell, it works really well for my 887 tactical and reflex sight. I got it from amazon for under $20.00.
