I purchased my new RP9 about 5 days ago. I've only had one range trip so far, but I thought I'd share my experience.
The pistol has a nice balance and feels good in my hand. I took it out with some WWB, and some Fed. aluminum, both 115gr FMJ. I started firing 5 shot drills, then going to 10 shot, just to see how it felt. The gun fed and ejected fine, but the slide wouldn't stay open on the last shot until I had gone through 5 mags. At that point the slide locked on the last shot every time.
I thought the gun was accurate and felt recoil was mild. Sights are easy to see and seemed set to point of aim right out of the box. I found myself shooting one handed after awhile because it just seemed to be suited to do that. My accuracy suffered, but that was me, not the gun.
Mag springs are stiff. I still haven't gotten a full 18 rounds in one yet. The best I did at the range was 13. The grips felt good. It was a hot day, I was worried about my hand sweating and loosing my grip but I never felt that at all.
I should add, I had one failure to feed with the WWB ammo during a 10rd drill. It nosed up and jammed. I just pulled it out, put it back in the mag, and all went fine. No other hiccups.
It's an enjoyable pistol. Remington, or their distributors, has dropped the price on this pistol. I got mine for $299 at a local FFL. It's a bargain at that price.
