Finally got my gun back from Galloway. Dry fired it twice and the trigger was awesome! On the third dry fire the trigger would not reset.
Tried to adjust the screw on the trigger, and the locktite Brandyn at Galloway put on the screw would not let me move the screw. I stripped the allen key trying.
I contacted Brandyn and got his usual snarky attitude that it worked when it left here response.
I then contacted Eric Galloway and explained the situation and my suspicion the hook on the trigger bar they made was more rounded than the stock one. My suspicion was the original sharp hook on the trigger bar rounded it's self at the moment I tried my third dry fire.
He wanted me to send it back and sent me pre-paid label. I did and they sent me a check for my original purchase. His excuse was Remington has continuously been making changes to the gun, so there is no constancy in the parts in the pistol. This does not explain why the pistol worked great twice, then failed. I'm wondering if they sufficiently hardened the trigger bar on the modification?
He also said he is discontinuing to sell the Tyre Trigger upgrade for the Remington 380.
So I'm stuck with the long trigger pull of my stock pistol. At least I insisted Brandyn return all of my stock parts. Good thing I did!
The trigger upgrade was a huge waste of time. I don't think I'll be buying anything else from Galloway anytime soon.

The bad:
My Tyre Trigger Kit did not work in my gun. The symptoms were as described by boscobarbell. The good: Galloway immediately refunded the purchase cost. My takeaway: Remington made changes in the pin location that made it incompatible with the Tyre Trigger. Galloway is the victim here. Galloway did the right thing and I would definitely do business with them again. |

Galloway does sell the RM 380 mod on its website not. Checked it today and it is not listed. Fortunately I can work with the long trigger pull.

Galloway did right by me. I purchased the Tyre trigger along with some other upgrades. I was hesitant to change anything after my first outing was 100% flawless. Why mess with something that isn't broken? I emailed Galloway to see if I could return the trigger kit after reading about the problems and its discontinuation. They immediately replied and issued me a refund and didn't want the kit back! Stand up company.
That said, I will install the other upgrades and test it over the winter when the RM380 goes into duty hibernation. Galloway said they are working on a new trigger kit so if available by then I'll probably re-purchase. I can handle the trigger fine as it is but 6-7lb shorter pull is to pine for. Carpe diem

Agreed. Galloway Precision is a good company and I would do business with them any time.
My trigger kit didn't work out but the stock trigger is breaking in nicely and is now smooth as silk. The long travel is no problem and it acts as a safety device. You are very unlikely to fire the RM380 unintentionally, unlike striker-fired pistols with light triggers. The RM380 is safe and reliable. It is small, good looking, and well made. It is easy to rack the slide and it is reliable. Yup I repeated "reliable". Zero malfunctions of any kind! This might be the best small gun ever - but what happened? Is Remington still suffering from prior missteps?, stiff competition from other makes?, or just bad marketing? I just don't get it. The RM380's excellence seems to be a well-kept secret. |

The lack of popularity of the RM380, which I consider the best SD gun I have ever owned, is likely due to the absence of marketing. The gun got and still gets rave reviews. But I have not see any effort to market the gun. With good reviews you would thing that Remington would seize the opportunity to market to promote the gun. I cannot imagine why. The company makes what is arguably the best pocket pistol on the market, and then it fails to tell the world.

I believe Remington is still suffering from the R-51 fiasco. |

L I agree, and that is why they should do more marketing of the RM380. It was a good gun from day one and many reviews point that out. Remington needs to soread the word about what a great gun it is to distract from the negatives of the R51 fiasco. |
