Have shot my Gen 2 R51 a couple of times and had no problems. It was in the car today and I was out on an errand to help my daughter repair her tractor. The way home took me by the range and since it had cooled off decided to stop and shot a few rounds.

The pistol wouldn't function. The slide locked back after every shot.

Brought it home and got out the instruction manual and did the function tests listed. The slide locked back whether there was a magazine in the pistol or not. It is not supposed to lock back with magazine removed.

A little trouble shooting showed the slide stop spring had not snapped over the tab on the slide stop as is instructed in step 13 of the assembly instructions. There was really no visible evidence of the problem from looking at the pistol.

Do your function test after reassembling the pistol.
