Howdy! I'm new to the forum - I'm a retired Navy FMF Corpsman with 22 years (20 Navy and 2 years prior as an Army infantryman). I'm looking for a little advice on options for a build I'm doing, just to see if I'm heading in the right direction. It's the first time I'm building a distance shooter, so hopefully I haven't started off wrong. So far, I have in hand:
Magpul Hunter stock w/ Mag conversion
Timney 510 Trigger
Several scope bases (0 and 20 moa)
Vortex scope rings
Harris 6" - 9" bipod
Nikon M-308 BDC scope
All of this, and I still haven't taken possession of the rifle itself...
Is there anything I'm missing? The longest range I have locally is a 550 yarder, but every weekend is a 3-day for me, so I can head east from Seattle and find a couple of 1000 yard ranges (Farthest I've ever shot was 500 with M16 iron sights (Marine Corps qualifications)).
Any ideas, including building techniques, are more than welcome!
