i have just purchased a nickel plated sporting clays model 11-87--manufactured in 1997--30" ported barrel etc AND I LOVE IT
this model has a forend that has a tendency to split over time---and i found a spare forend at NUMRICH that i already purchased for a rainy day----
HOWEVER this model/forend also has a rubber grommet in the forend that DIDNT come with the replacement that i got from NUMRICH.
so i am looking for a spare rubber grommet---
it isn't even listed on some of the schematics that i have seen---but i did see it listed on one schematic as part #71
I've tried remington, brownells, midway usa, and MGW, and obviously NUMRICH--with no luck!
so I'm trying this forum and i have my fingers crossed
please advise with any ideas---and maybe one of you remington owners have one laying around
thanks in advance

Pop the one you have out of the fore end on it if you ever need it. Don't be surprised if you don't. I have never heard of 1100s or 11-87s splitting fore ends.
What could have happened... did.

hey thanks for the reply
this particular model(sporting clays) has a short(10") forearm---which is shorter than the usual length of the forearm on the 11-87 and they did this so this shotgun would cycle 1oz. shells etc and this gun that i bought came with a split forearm that has been professionally repaired with fiberglass etc so in my case I'm planning for the future especially since REMINGTON told me that some of these parts for this model have been discontinued etc MY BIGGEST FEAR is that if i ever do need a rubber grommet and i don't have a spare---and i try to use the one on the split/repaired forearm--then theres always the chance that it may NOT be able to be removed in one piece etc! so that is why i brought it up on this forum on the offhand chance that someone may have one laying around etc but nonetheless---thanks for the reply and i hope i get more responses and ideas on this subject Jdub1949 |

The forearm is shorter to lighten the front end. A lot of people really like the balance. Those are nice guns.
