I just read about the RM380 today on Bearing Arms. I've been contemplating something like this for a carry weapon for Wifey. Thoughts or comments?

Read the same article...jury is out until I hold and shoot one !

Me, too! It looks like a neat little weapon suitable for concealed carry, and I hope we don't see the same pattern of events like with the R51 and early R1s. I'm happy as a pig in s**t with my R1 Commander and I hope the RM380 turns out to be a solid product also.

Just saw it myself and it sure looks like it would be a nice concealable piece. Hope there is no BS with this one also. have not read any reviews in the gun rags yet. Will share if I read anymore

Yup, saw some stuff on that one too. If Big Green can make it happen like their R1's, they will sell the crap out of them. The R51? Not so much if it turns out like that. We will see.

I don't really trust Remington anymore, they have had more recalls than is at all acceptable. Still have not seen hide nor hair of the "new and improved" R51! Todays date is 8-12-2015. The RM380 was supposed to be in the gun stores in June. Just wonder what the problem is here. The gun is a redesigned Rohrbaugh, a pricey little gun, but one that functioned fine. Remington is trying to lower the price on the RM380 so it makes me wonder if maybe they didn't screw the pooch again. God only knows what they will do to Para, A company that had a few QC without any help from Big Green.
There was a time the only long gun i would buy was a 700, 1100 or 870. Not so much any more!! ![]() |

I just took a quick look at the RM380 on Remington's website. Unless I missed it, there's no date set for introduction. Perhaps the June date fell by the wayside. I did see that the model in the pix was made in Huntsville. Perhaps that had some effect on the intro date. Also, FWIW, the R1 $75 rebate has been extended thru Dec 31 '15.
