One of my prized guns is my Remington 33 single shot. I got it back in about 2000 I think from a friend of mine and what struck me right off the bat was the accuracy. It would put rounds on top of another and that was with open sights. I then added a fixed 4 power Weaver scope. A few years later I crossed paths with a Weaver 3/4 inch 3-6 power scope which is what it wears now. It has accounted for more game than I can recall. More squirrels have fallen to it then I can remember and this season so has a nice rabbit. The stock is some of the nicest wood I have ever seen on any rifle and last year I redid it with five coats of Tru-Oil. I once read that these guns were made to be a cheap alternative to the Winchester Model 52 but I can't remember where I read that. Anyone else know the history behind these wonderful little rifles?
