I lost the ivory front bead for my versamax sportsman. I can't get through to anyone at remington parts and can't find it on the website. I bought an aftermarket fiberoptic bead to try instead but the threads don't fit. It said 6-48 Rem and I asked the guy at Gander Mountain if it would work. Naturally he said he has no idea I'll just have to try it. For $10 I decided to. It starts threading in but it won't go down very far. Anyone know what size threads these are or where to get a replacement bead?

the threads on the VM are 6-48....it is my guess that they are maybe messed up a little or dirty and that is why the fiber sight will not screw in.
This is the only one that I know of being available. It seems that the Sportsman white front bead is not available...
