Hey I've posted here before about this shotgun, I started to do more research and came across a few people who had one but their vintage 870 in 16 had 28inch barrels.. All of them... Image mine obviously does not have a 28in barrel. It's actually a smooth bore slug barrel. And I did date it back to 1955 even though the finish in the barrel is like beyond new(looks way better than anything I've EVER seen) and the finish in the gun is well... Used shall we say. Question is,
Is this barrel uncommon for these back in the day?

the only short barrel 16 gauge they made at the time that I am aware of is a Model 870R Riot Grade with 20" barrel (for $69.95).
Very nice looking gun!!!
We have done so much for so long with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing!

Man, kinda tough to see from a short distance, but that shotgun looks pretty clean for a 64 year old gun.

Nice shotgun, Sir!

Thank you for the pics.
An ATI stock set on a 1955 16-ga Wingmaster would make Baby Jesus cry...........
