The AUGUST issue has a great write up on how wonderful Remingtons new R51 is! I don't really want to call gun writers "whores" but it is what it is!!! :o

Wow. I would think that articles could be caught in time and redacted.

I guess the Remington cashiers check already cleared over at B&A.

Wow, just wow. I quit reading G&A years ago, but this is over the top, especially so long after so many known problems and no solution in sight.

I have the August issue on Guns&Ammo and haven't seen the R51 write up in it. Can you tell me what page its on? Only gun write up/test for a handgun I see is for the new Range Officer Compact.

Thanks.

The September (!) issue of Guns has a cover story (!) on how great the R51 is!

Sorry for all of the exclamation points - but it is simply amazing to me that that a gun that is: (In my opinion, due to the documented OOB discharges) dangerous, horribly unreliable, "soft recalled" (i.e Remington has removed the gun from the web and doesn't seem to be shipping them any longer), and for which there are owners who've had their guns back at Remington for 100+ days (with no end in sight) - I can't see how even the most "bought and paid for" gun rag could STILL be pushing the R51.

I've said this before, the only article about the R51 we should be seeing at this point is a warning to consumers and shame piece on Remington for this debacle. The whores (I mean writers) who pawn themselves off as "experts," yet who keep beating a self-serving mantra of "we can only report on what were sent," while ignoring this travesty as it rages on, are shocking in their audacity.

After this event, I will simply never bother reading a print gun review again! I don't have time to read fiction!

Sorry about the wrong month! I've been retired a long time and the days and months don't means so much any more.

Oops! Not sorry about that because most everyone gets their turn and it IS great! No more 9 to 5 or schedules & deadlines. Cut some wood & fire up the pit and spend 10 or 12 hours smoking up some ribs and making jerky while cleaning and shining the guns and other armor.

Thanks 'lincen', I am enjoying it. I spend about 1/3 of my time in Vegas and the rest is fishing the Texas Gulf Coast and shooting my guns. Things I didn't have time to enjoy while I was still working. You'll have that too before you know it.

Retirement is indeed awesome.

It is ironic that I still cannot get to the range as often as I'd like. I do miss the days when I worked and lived in a remote location where I could shoot around the house.

I may not be retired, but at least I can say my gun range is off my front porch. honestly never been to a gun range and don't plan on it. Congrats to you guys that are retired but the way they are driving this country into the ground there wont be such a thing as retirement someday. middle class blue collar workers don't stand a chance! thanks Obama.

Thank You!

I's tough right now, but not impossible. I can say I was able to retire when I did because I followed Dave Ramsey's book, The Total Money Makeover. No gimmicks or crazy nonsense, just excellent financial advice and a step by step plan to get out of debt and live debt free. It's so simple and sound I used to buy his books by the case and give them to all our interns at work. It's an easy read book, for both men and women. The plan is simple and easy to follow. I wish you the best.
