A while back I posted the question if a short action bolt assembly and a long action bolt assembly are interchangeable, and if a bolt from a 7400 would work in a 7600. Nobody could give me an answer, so I decided to take a chance on a 7400 bolt on ebay. Got the bolt last week installed it in my 7600, worked like a charm. So then I took my bolt from my long action(30-06) and installed it in my short action(.308). It worked slicker than shit also. Just thought I would update yall because even Remington tech-line couldn't answer my question.

Yes, like I said they both work perfectly. No misfires or jams with 10 rounds each try. No marks on the ejected casings except for firing pin marks.
