I may have the worst luck in the world but I have received not one but two 700 aac sd's with problems from the manufacturer. The first one would not cycle. It was so out of alignment that it cut grooves into the case so deep I would be scared to shoot it as well as leaving a line of grooves down the actual bullet that looked like you got on it with a file. I called remington waded through the automated answering system the got told I was talking to the wrong person so after ten minutes on hold I was told again I was not on the phone with the right person. I'm back on hold thirty-four yes I timed it thirty-four minutes later I got frustrated and hung up. After that I contacted the company I bought it through and it was more or less "oh another crap rem 700" send it back and we will send you another one. Ok no problem, I sent it back got another one and guess what it cycles flawlessly. I'm happy no problems with this one or so I thought. Got it home and a few days later I went to mount my base three screws went in with no problems then the last hole the screw went in about four to five threads and stopped hmm screw must have a burr on it. Try another screw guess what it wouldn't go all the way in either. Wth is is the deal am I just extremely unlucky or have remington's standards gone to crap?

Welcome to the Remington Owners Forum !!
Sorry to hear about your problem... |

Hello and welcome to the site. I bought my first Remington rifle, about six weeks ago, and had to send it back a week later for the trigger recall. They have had my rifle for four weeks on the 20th, but still have not done a thing with it. I hope they get on it soon...I'm loosing patience.

Sorry to hear you had problems. I have bought two Remington's lately and had no problems. The first rifle you had sounds bad, it should have been checked for functioning before leaving the factory. The second one would be easy fix without having to send it back. Just buy a tap for 3 or 4 dollars and clean up ( chase) the threads. I do this on all new rifles whether they need it or not. All scope base screw holes in the receiver (that I know of) use a 6-48 thread. |

Update: I called Remington on the 11th, and they told me my rifle went from the receiving area to the "work" rack, but to expect 3 more weeks before they get to it. The 11th was the seventh week. Sigh. USMC 83' - 87'

I feel your pain (remingtontoter) They have had mine since the first week of June. When they sent the return shipping label the instructions said 2-3 weeks what a laugh been 10 weeks already! Last time I called they said well we gave you a discount code to pay us for some Remington swag.... I have a feeling they'll have a lot of no repeat customers. By the time I get my 22-250 varmint season will be over!

Although I had no issues with my 700 in 223, it is going back for the trigger recall. Based upon the experiences of others as to the time i tmight take, I did not want to miss yote season in a couple months. So I pulled together some extra cash and bought a Ruger American in 223. Only one day at the range with this rifle, but I am impressed. Trigger is several times better than my 700.
I may well become one of those "no repeat" customers. When the 700 returns it may be on the auction block. |

Why send it back and buy a new rifle if you had "no issues"...!? |
