Hello all. First post... but long time Remington owner.
The issue im currently in is this... I have a 870 wingmaster, in 20ga. that ive owned since I was sixteen. several ducks and geese and squirrels and rabbits and turkeys have fallen due to this excellent shotgun. I love it. always have.
My problem is I now live in an apartment in the big city, and would lie to use it for home defense. but the barrel is much to long. I would love an 18 inch barrel. Cant find one. Secondly im not sure what shells to use. Is standard "game load" good enough? I cant find buckshot anywhere... at least not for a 20ga.
Thank you in advance for all your help.

Welcome to the Remington Owners Forum !!
18.5 inch barrels for the 870 link: http://www.midwayusa.com/Product/128102 ... bead-sight At normal self defense distances within an apartment or house, bird shot will suffice as a self defense load because the pellets will retain a tight pattern within the few yards most shots are taken. |

Thank you kindly. I noticed it said "express". Does it matter that mine is a wingmaster?

Wingmasters and express will interchange barrels not a prob.
If you can't sell it don't buy it
