I recently purchased a Versa Max Sportsman Mossy Oak Duck Blind. I use an Avery floating gun case to protect my gun while go to and from during hunting trips in the boat and truck. I am beginning to notice that the camo is wearing off it a lot of places on the gun. I am also NOT using any harsh chemicals directly on the camo. I simply wipe the gun down with a rem oil cloth. This is pretty unsatisfactory and was hoping someone can shed some light on what I might be doing wrong or how I can mitigate any further wear. Can I get this gun re-dipped by Remington etc.?

Can you show me some pictures please?
Camo wear/fade is normal with use, but i have no idea what you mean by "a lot" because it is subject to only your opinion of what you are seeing.
Regardless, Remington's customer service is second to none and a call to them is in order here if you feel you have a problem.

Tell them you think the camo is coming off....they will want you to send the gun to them once they give you a free shipping label.......ask it you can send it back after your waterfowl season is over.

Other than the camo wear, how do you like the gun?

TuJays,

Thank you for your response. I absolutely love the gun. Worth every penny I paid for it. By far my best shotgun purchased to date. In fact all of my Remington gun purchases were good. There are some other brand guns I wish I hadn't purchased.

I will get some pictures and post them for you to see. thank you again.

Yep....same as mine.....absolutely normal in my opinion!
And that is not just on the VM.....other brands I have hunted with do the same.

Well my sportsman modb camo was wearing off mine as well. I talked directly to remington about this issue and they informed me that the new process they use for the finish only places a thin finish over the gun. unlike the older guns where the camo patterns were deeper into the synthetic and steel components. Remington explained that the finish will wear off even from just having the gun slinged over your shoulder because parts of the gun are rubbing on your clothing. I was also told that this will not be covered by warranty and that it is just what will happen with the new camo finishes. Not a happy camper.
