Hi guys, this is my first time posting to the forum and just wanted to say hello. I purchased a new 597 several months ago and have taken it to the range two or three times and I noticed a slight rattle the last time I was on the range. When I took it down to clean it this

small cylindrical piece fell out on the bench top and I could determine if it was from the trigger mechanism or somewhere else on the rifle. Does it look familiar to anyone? Couldn't find anything like it on the expanded view in the manual.

If I can't decide what it is soon I will take it to Gander Mtn and have them look at it. I hope it's nothing serious and not too hard of a fix. Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the forum!

I cannot really see it in large enough detail to study what it could be. I think taking it to the gunsmiths at Gander Mountain is a very good first step. Did you purchase the rifle from there?

Thank you! Yes, I did purchase it from them several months ago. I'm probably going to have them look at it to make sure the gun is safe. Here are two more pics and I don't know if they will help you any.
