Bought this yesterday. Seems pretty nice overall and I'm excited to shoot 22-250 for the first. Anything you can tell me about it? Serial is 6188723 barrel also has a cross with AY Y next to it. Thanks for any info you can provide.

My guess is you're going to find this to be a tack driver. I had a 788 in 22-250 years ago until I picked one up in a lefty BDL. Every 788 I had shot super. I only have one left in 7-08 but lament selling a LH 6mm and a 223. The only issue I ever had that I didn't like was the bolt doesn't lock down with the safety and I've had them work up so that when I went to shoot it wouldn't. When a deer was in my sights and the gun didn't go boom when I pulled the trigger I may have said a word or two I shouldn't have.

That's pretty much what I've read. I've heard complaints about the looks, but I think it looks good. That scope is another mystery. No markings except tasco and power/focus. I got it for $350 and feel pretty good about that.

Shoots amazing. That scope is not great though. With remington factory loads I had 1 1/2- 2" groups. Once I started shooting my hand loads (55 gr fmj over 19.2gr IMR 4227 with remington magnum rifle primers) my groups were smaller than a dime. I was basically just spreading open 1 bullet hole at 100 yards. The bolt needs a good cleaning as I noticed after 3 or 4 shots it became difficult to close the bolt. May be build up I'm the receiver too. It felt similar to the way a mosin-Nagant gets when the cosmoline starts to melt.

Looks really nice and glad it shoots well. Friend had one and was one accurate rifle. Good quality at a great price.
