I just bought an 11-87 Special Purpose (wood furniture, and 18inch rifle sight barrel) and was wondering if anyone knows if it has a forcing cone since it came with a rifled choke for slugs. I figured it wouldn't because it is designed to shoot slugs or shot.
Other Remington arms owned:
700 BDL .222Rem
Model 6 30-06 (fancy grade, is now known as 7600) - is worth some money
870 express 3.5" 12ga
11-87 forcing cone?

Good question. I don't know for sure but my gut tells me there must be something there. Unlike a rifle the chamber must have a transition area to account for the crimp and to transition the found into the rifling. Whether or not this would technically be a forcing cone or not I am not sure.
I'll try to find some time today to research this a little further. We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.-Ronald Reagan

From what I can find all the barrels have a forcing cone, even the rifled slug barrels.

Thanks, I figured it would being a regular barrel (came with the two chokes - IC and rifled), but didn't know for sure or if there was any way to check.
