Anyone know where to get them? I'd actually like to call Remington and tell them that I'd like the barreled action off a Remington 700 Target Tactical. Anyone know if Remington would do that or is it only a "standard" action and barrel?

This may or may not help. Back in the 1970's Remington had a short-lived caliber called the 17 Remington . If you find one at a gun show, complete rifles are very very cheap. Point of this is the fact that the obsolete 17 Remington cartridge took the same boltface as a 223. I bought one for $200 and then had a Kreiger 223 barrel screwed onto the receiver.
