Are you talking about choosing between 6+1 870s with the single-piece 6-round magazine tube, and 6+1 870s with the standard 4+1 mag tube and a +2 extension?

Both will get you a 6+1 870, but the guns with the new single-peice 6-round magazine tubes are specialized defensive variants that will only accept special 18.5" barrels built for that long magazine tube. That's fine for a full-time HD shotgun or "tacti-cool" range toy; but if you want to be able to swap barrels and take your HD shotgun out hunting or clay-shooting, you should get a standard 870 instead.
