I recently acquired a Remington 710 with an issue with the safety lever. The lever does not move to the safe position when the bolt is cycled. After cycling the bolt, and the lever staying in the fire position, the trigger will not release the hammer. You can then cycle the safety lever (not always easy to do) and the hammer will fire.
Question one: Is this a common situation? What is the fix?
Question two: Where can I find instruction for dismantling the trigger group? I got down to where it looks like the receiver insert should come out, but I'm not going to use force without more info.
