I got to the range today with my new R1 Enhanced. It is the black one without the threaded barrel. Only two minor mods when I took it apart to clean I polished the ramp, also I beat a computer all day now so I found the grips a little sharp and took some 350 grit sand paper to them. Just took the sharp ends off and a little more to smooth it out on the back edge.

I put around a box of 280 FMJ Aguila, 2 mags of Critical Duty JHP and even 2 mags of Tula steal FMJ 280 steel case. The guy on the next lane over shot 2 mags of his reloads not sure what they were but they were sure mild FMJ. He said he has 4 1911’s he also said he was now in the market for a R1 Enhanced he liked it. I had three people who are familiar with the Enhanced and they all liked the feel of the grips.

I will try to post a picture but I will wait till I finish the thumb relief. All and all a good outing, oh and my mags are an assortment 2 Remington’s, a Chip McCormick, one Wilson, a Mec-gar, and 6 ACT (two came with my S&W and I bought 4 more same mag just did not have S&W engraving on them) My S&W 1911 does not like anything but the ACT, the R1 took them all. I was able to shoot 3” groups at 7 yards; can’t wait for the next trip.
