What "gouging" are you talking about? Interested parties are bidding it up, yes, but the seller isn't asking more than MSRP, he's just letting buyers bid what they're willing to pay. That's not "gouging."

I bought one two days ago straight from the LGS for $399 +tax.

I sent them an email requesting info on availability and price and they sent me a reply when stock came in. I went out there within a few hours and picked it up.

I suspect that Olde English Outfitters in Tipp City Ohio isn't the only LGS that is selling to live customers instead of online. Look around and maybe put in a request with the LGSes in your area.

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but it feels real nice in the hand.

I posted about some initial impressions during first clean in post #12 here: http://www.remingtonowners.com/topic1626.html

seen on gunbroker a 'buy it now' price of $800, I would call that price gouging. I would assume most bigger stores, BPS, Cabelas, Gander Mtn, etc will be at retail pricing

I was chastised earlier in the thread when I called what is going on at GB broker gouging , IT IS !. plain and simple. I preordered 2 months ago and locked in a price of 384.00 may take awhile but I'll wait. Seems more and more are showing up at GB everyday. Hopefully these inflated prices will not determine what some LGD's will ask for them, but you know it will until the demand ebbs.

"Price Gouging" is liberal communist code for "Capitalism." Don't like the price, buy it elsewhere. It's not like we're living in a Coal Mining Village and have to use Company Script to buy from the Company Store.

There have been several reports now of people buying R51's from LGS at sub-MSRP.

Price Gouging is my right wing code for I don't want to be ripped off. As usual it is buyer be aware and in this case I am aware.

BTW I also own a business and know the meaning of competition If I charged double what the going rate is then I would not be in business for long. What is going on at GB is price Gouging pure and simple.

It is also my right to say what I think as is yours to defend your position.

I think the term "Price Gouging" and the accompanying psychology that goes along with it, is the most successful Communist/Socialist propaganda coup since the 19th Century Russian revolution. We, as a culture, have become accustomed to believing that a good or service "should" only cost so much and if the price exceeds what we think it "should" then someone is "Price Gouging" and taking advantage of us, the little guy (aka, the proletaria), probably the rich one-percenters (aka, the bourgeoisie). And there are immediate calls that it's just "not fair." And, depending one what is being "price gouged" there are also often calls the maybe the government should step in and punish or prevent these one-percenters (bourgeoisie capitalists pigs!) from raping the middle class (proletariat/working-man). Has everyone already forgotten the calls to punish the evil Big Oil companies for making their "windfall profits" by levying a confiscatory tax?

The song is still the same, only the words have changed and people who should know better are being fooled by it.

This thread has spiraled out of control debating the prices on gunbroker. The important part is the pistol is available. And some members here have them and were kind enough share their thoughts on the pistol firsthand. Back to the pistol...

Have you tried any +p ammo yet, Kirk?

Anyone seeing these at bigger retailers yet? I don't have many small LGS's around and the ones that are around don't typically get in 'hot item' new guns for in for some time.....
