Got my R-1 yesterday. I read some reviews some positive and some negative. To start with, out the box I fired 50 rounds and flawless. It is very accurate. 7 yards punched dead center, at 15 yards no change 25 yards slight difference, but had to figure to hold a little high. 50 yards out spot on. I am very pleased with the results. This is my first 1911.... some of the negative reviews I read were about accuracy, feeding problems, and trigger. I understand that this is a combat pistol, and not a (in others words not a high end pistol). The R-1 standard is a great 1911 for its price point. It may not have all the bells and whistles as the high ended 1911's but it will hold its own. With some modifications and it could be awesome, and the R-1 standard is the perfect model to work on if so desired. All in all great weapon great price point. It may not be a high end model, but it is a true work horse. Thank you Remington.

Got mine last month and I've ran 300 rounds thru mine so far and absolutely love it! Also found a rebate for $75.00 Or a lake storm barrel on Remington's website, found mine to be more than accurate and decided on the money! So glad I made this my first 1911

Congrats on the R1 marine. I recently got an R1 stainless and I'm highly impressed with it. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
