my step father left me his mdl. 700, 264win. mag, with sn 299867, and iam trying to find what year it was made, and I see some posts have , like adl, and other letters in back of the mdl. 700, what would this one be, I have to get a back sight part, and I want to get the right part

You need to go to this site to figure out the date of manufacture, http://www.remingtonsociety.com/rsa/que ... arrelcodes , Rem. doesn't use the ser.#.
