I haven't fired my 887 tactical as of yet. I am running the action by holding the bolt release when ever I get a chance.

It seems the rearward stroke on the fore end is not as notchy as the forward stroke. There is a section on the forward stroke that seems really rough. I took the shot gun apart and found that the hammer is heavily dragging on the bolt. There is dusty material all over the trigger group.

With the trigger group out, the action is very smooth. So I know the resistance is coming else where.

Seems like the action will get smoother when the hammers carves out a channel in the bolt. Should I be concerned? The hammer is not gently grazing the bolt, it is definitely carving.

Can the hammer height be adjusted to not sit as high?

I smeared oil on the hammer and where the hammer was dragging on the bolt. It seems to have smoothed it out a bit.

Can someone post a pic of their bolt for comparison?

Thanks

Thanks for the pics.

I am itching to call Remington support.

Can anyone else add to this?

Around 3000 shots fired, cycles easy with 2 fingers.

Has seen better days, but functions just fine
