I got an Remington 870 20 gauge wingmaster from my grandfather I was wondering if it's a lightweight model or standard? The serial # starts with a T and ends with an x.

trkycaller, The gun was made between 1974 - 1977 as "T" was the serial number Prefix letter used during that time frame on all 870's built. Your gun is also a 20 gauge that is built on the original 12 gauge frame as indicated by the "X" suffix in the serial number. If it was a lightweight model the serial number would end in "K" for 2 3/4" or "U" for 3" mag's LW guns Sounds like a nice gun that will be a good shooter! You've got a mystery there,I can help you with several points of information, but can't solve the mystery.
First,Hastings went out of business in Jan 2010,so you are not going to get an answer from them. Second, Hastings made two types of chokes for their own barrels, and clones for other systems, such as Remchoke. Their type 1 choke for their own barrels was identical to tru-choke. Their type 11 choke for their own barrels was proprietary with no interchange and no replacements available. Most of their "wadlock" barrels had the type 11. Remchokes will not interchange with either of these.........I don't mean "not recommended" I mean the threads won't work, so do not do it. You may want to call and talk to someone like....... http://www.choketube.com/ tell them what you have and or send it to them and they will fit you right up! I had not heard they where back in business making stuff.
I do know that all of their available stack was purchased by someone and they sell it. Best of luck, I hope they can help!! We have done so much for so long with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing!
