I've heard that the 'Gold Standard' is the Badger. But they are very expensive!

I've heard that Wyatt is good value for money but the magazines can be a bit troublesome to load.

Looking at the Tactical works, they look even more expensive than the badgers!

If I have an SPS 700 .308 with the hogue stock then what is a good option for me?

Thanks!

I saw this but they don't list my .308 as an option. I'm just going with the Boyd stock for now.

New guy here, on my 22-250 I instslled an HS precision stock and added their trigger guard assembly. Everything nice but only a 4rd mag. Im in the process if customizing a 308 mag so it will accept 22-250.

This is for 700 in .308 with the heavy bull barrel. Should make shooting more enjoyable not having to load every 4 rounds or so.

ImageImageImageThats the problem with 22-250, nobody makes a 10rds mag..
Here is a 4rds mag for 22-250 and a 10rds mag for 308, im about to modify the 308 mag to accept 22-250.

Here with the hs stock.

Want to use my 700 BDL for NRA 100 yard competition. (100 yard because I don't want to violate the beauty by changing barrels to a faster twist.) Which of the Magazine conversion kits will enable me to use my AR 15 magazines?

So which conversion has 10 or 20 round mags for easy change? I like the feel and grasp of the old 20s because of 30 years military service with the m16 and the M14. At this age I really don't want to find a new touch.

Certain kits will use the accuracy international mags, others are proprietary ( and expensive)

All i can suggest is read the options in this thread and then do some Google research.

Some might make 20 round mags, but most are 10 round

Has 5 round mag in the picture, but I have two 10 rounders also.

Very nice. Thanks. I'll give it a try. Iron sights are a bit more challenging which is the point. What do you use it for?

You've got the right rifle for our western snipes. We often have to shoot from canyon wall to canyon wall in order to get them. I've liked iron sights because the scope is hard to see through when looking into the sun. But shooting silhouetted snipes is challenging because you can't see where your misses are hitting.

My scope has the sun shade on it and it helps tremendously for shots made toward the sun. My 700 ADL didn't even come with iron sights. It's scope or pray for my shots.

With my old eyes, its both anyway. LOL.

I understand. Many, many years ago in my youth, I was shooting my "03 Mark II (original leaf iron sights and stock) at a silhouetted figure that I thought was an elk. all I could see was sun and the silhouette both with my eyes and thru the sights. Made a great shot uphill and across the draw. Turns out it wasn't an elk, but a mammoth buck with swollen neck and fantastic rack. I cried all the way home and didn't hunt again for three years. Sun shade was needed. I still mourn that buck, now almost 60 years later.

I am getting the same stock for my SPS .308 but in o.d. green/black spiderweb. I like the stock and it is one of the few I've seen available in left hand. Also will eventually get the H-S bottom metal to ensure more of a drop in fit. What Redfield is that with the Adjustable Objective ?

A drop in would be nice, but I just went balls out custom.

An add-on for the list:

Would be nice to convert a .243 when time and $$$ permits.
