How do you guys clean your bore brushes? I went to clean my barrel the other day and noticed my brass brush was all gunked up.

I never really thought about it before.

But it would not hurt to give your brush a close up shot of automotive brake cleaner in an aerosol can. Maybe a toothbrush to get the schmutz out of the brush?

Or just buy a new one every few years.

If, and thats a big if, I think the brush is too dirty to clean the bore, I just screw on a new one. I get them in bulk for about a buck each. Pretty cheap, and the old one is then used to clean the necks of the brass prior to reloading.

I think rather than the brush being dirty, I'm more concerned about the brush being used too much, and not stiff to get into the corners if the rifling. Bent, worn bristles do not clean well enough for my needs. JMHO.
