Very nice. I'm a big fan of wood hardware.

I went polymer a while back when I cracked my original stock and the gun has never felt the same.

Thanks MikeD, Guess I am old school always prefer wood over the polymer or synthetic, noting wrong with them just that my taste has always been in the old school wood.
Just something about them in the wood that sets them apart

I also like the furniture. I'm a fan of 870s and own a 1999 870 (blonde) LE "riot" Express sheriff turn in. I'd post a pic, but the site says image has too many KBs.
Just wondering if you have removed the shell carrier to actually see "police" stamped on the receiver?
No offense, but for my own curiosity, "Gun Digest" Book of Modern Gun Values, 17th edition, lists the
Police as introduced in 1994. Also, was wondering if the breech bolt is black chrome or polished?
At any rate, very nice weapon!

I love to see shotguns like that! Nice gun and good pics.
An ATI stock set on a 1955 16-ga Wingmaster would make Baby Jesus cry...........

Carl,

Thanks for the compliment

Yes sir I did a complete takedown on it when I obtained it, and it is marked Police Magnum
on the left side of the receiver. I contacted Remington and requested a serial number check
and they confirmed that it was produced in 1991 and a Remington 870 Police Magnum

The breech bolt appears to be black chrome color with normal wear marks.
Shotgun finish is parkerizing.

It may be possible there could be error in the Gun Digest reporting stats....

Gunny, thanks for the info. Yes, it is very possible Gun Digest and others have misstated first production of the Police Magnum. I had heard of LE armories holding Police Mags. from 1991. I think it makes yours even sweeter.

Thanks again Carl, I am just wondering now what the correct year would be for the first introduction of the Police Magnum :?: Any thoughts anyone ?
