Hello I am new here. My primary hunting guns are a remington sub division now H&R. In general I'm a singleshot-aholic  But see the need for a repeater . I am also a lefty, the complaint part remington only makes one barrel for us lefty 28 " vent rib remchokes . A few years back A local gunshop wanted a gun I had . After some negotiations I walked out with a new in the box lefty 870 express. With less money than I have in most my singleshots in it. the gun shot good but was quite right for me so it set in the closet most of the time . After some thinking and studying I decided the problem was my hunting style was usually in thick brush and such and the balance wasn't quite right for my taste. So I sent the barrel off to a smith for some mods. I was cut to 18 1/2" bead reinstalled and rethreaded for remchokes. The shorter barrel moves the point of balance back just enough to feel right for me. I have shot it at the pattern board many times and the pattern didn't change at all with slugs It is minute of deer @ 50 yards. I was happy. The guys at the club have been after me to try trap . I don't have a proper trap gun I decided to try my little 870 . I held my own with dedicated trap guns so I believe it is a keeper

Glad you are liking the 870. I was not aware that they only made the one barrel for the lefty's.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.-Ronald Reagan
