You have certainly poured a heap of money into "improving" that 870. Awesome!

It sure does look very impressive. I'm real proud for you since you were able to build the house gun of your dreams.

I think your SureFire light is positioned far enough forward as to not cast an upwards shadow. Good planning on that part.

How does it shoot when you run it?
An ATI stock set on a 1955 16-ga Wingmaster would make Baby Jesus cry...........

Thank you 'nitesite',

I did a lot of this type of build the years I was a FFL Dealer/Gunsmith. Mostly handguns and for other people. About the time I finished this project I had some health problems that rule out fine hand control. But I am Improving and hope to someday return to my workbench...I have a custom Ruger 10-22 awaiting completion :)

I did fire it a few times to co-witness sight/laser and it grouped Federal Solids very well. And, much to my pleasant surprise, it grouped Federal 3 Buck into nice 3-4" patterns at 15'. I hope to locate (or build) a cantilever smoothbore barrel for it. I'll then swap the laser & dot sight to the smoothbore and mount a 1x-4x 'scope to this rifled barrel for those longer shots with slugs.

My place is quite small and has and has several light colored walls*. I checked reflected light levels with my old photographic light meter and the farther ahead I could mount the Sure-Fire the better. I chose the 200 lumen over the 500 lumen, as, in my case anyway, more is not better. The 200 has more than enough 'dazzle' for my needs (I checked it out on myself in a full length mirror). For a patrol weapon I'd likely go with the 500. Entry? ... the 200. Or I’d mount one of the new (expensive) variable output lights for both.

*See PhotoBucket link in orig. post.

I appreciate your feedback,
