Hi,
I've got a 28" barrel that I wanted to put on my 870 Express which currently has an 18" barrel.
It seems that the ammo tube on my existing 870 is extended.. I didn't realize this until now.
The 28" barrel is designed for a none extended tube.
So now I'm faced with options..
- Either sell the 28" barrel
- Buy a completlty new shotgun with a 28" barrel
- Find a way to make the barrel fit.
I've seen reports of folks putting a bit of pipe over the ammo tube.. but for me it seems like an unprofessional solution and not one that I would be happy with.
So is it possible to buy a new ammo tube for my 870 express a short ammo tube and if so is it cost effective and WHERE could I buy one?.. used would be nice to keep cost down.
Thanks,
Steve

A pipe of some sort may be your only option.
The magazine tube is soldered into the receiver so swapping that out is not an option (unless you have some skill in this area). We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.-Ronald Reagan
