Hey, this is my first post for this forum and I was wondering if somebody could give advice and/or clear things up.
First, I own a Remington 700 CDL DM (.30-06), so it already comes with a 4-round long action magazine. (model #84077)

I was wondering if anybody made a 10 round magazine I could put in it's place without having to replace the trigger guard/floor plate assembly, etc. ???

I found this one from Wyatt's: http://wyattsoutdoor.com/product_info.php/cPath/2/products_id/60 but i'm not sure if this magazine will work with my stock rifle or if I need to buy their assembly as well. Does anyone know?

Are there any 10 round (+/-) magazines for my rifle that I can use with changing out any parts, (let alone milling/filing down any metal)?

Thanks

Ok, so I got an email back from Wyatt and he said that I DO need the assembly... http://wyattsoutdoor.com/product_info.php/cPath/2/products_id/62 ...to work with his magazine. So my question is, is replacing this assembly very involved? Is it something I could do myself without screwing something something up badly? And, does anyone have experience with his products (are they good quality)?

Thanks

I'll second the Welcome!

Anything from Sportsman's Guide, maybe? They seem to come up with some fairly odd things.

Sounds like if gun alterations are required I certainly wouldn't modify the rifle.
An ATI stock set on a 1955 16-ga Wingmaster would make Baby Jesus cry...........

Check out CDI Precision - if you've got the skills you can do it yourself or send it into them. They put a new bottom metal in and you can then use AICS mags. Pretty sure AICS has 10 round mags available in 308.

I just ordered the Wyatt's Outdoor mag upgrade kit wit 5 round mag from Midway. Two extra 10 round mags with it. Mine is .308 SA bull barrel ( heavy barrel). Going with this Boyd's stock, also waiting on shipment.

ImageFinally done! The Wyatt's outdoor detmag kit was drop in perfect fit with no mods required at all.

The Boyds stock was also perfect (almost). My ADL .308 heavy barrel fit and is basically free floating with just a minor issue on the right side. I can run a business card all the way down the barrel to the receiver, but it does get a bit tight on the right side. I will need to do a tiny bit of sanding on the right of the barrel channel, maybe 1/32 inch or less.

Sorry about the duplicate images, not sure what happened. Mod can you clean this up?
