This year I loaded I tried Hornady GMX's in my 30-06 150 grain with 49.5 grains of H4895 my model 74 will cloverleaf them at 100 yards. The real test was a whitetail I shot at 72 yards , the bullet landed right where I held it got both lungs and on exit broke the exit shoulder. The exit wound was a little larger than I would like about the size of a silver dollar . It did its job the deer never went another step, that was great it is very hard to track a blood trail in heavy brush.
I would say that this will be my goto bullet for hunting from now on.
Has any one tried Hornady GMX's ?

Sounds like a very good shot under stress, and the bullet performed really well. Your load with H4895 is a smart choice. I'll look into those bullets for myself. Are you finding them at a relatively good price?
Congrats on what surely was a very satisfying hunt!

Thanks! That is the bad part the price of the bullet. Now I need to work up a load for the gun that shoots the same for practice. Any ideas?
