My Versa Max was bought in january and basically sat in the gun cabinet until a few weeks ago. i have had problems with the bolt not wanting to close when cycled with ammo and even by hand. its very frustrating when you go to shoot your second shell and nothing happens cause the action is stuck open. all it takes to close it is a light bump or if i push the shell loader in it also closes it. has anyone else had these problems or know how i can figure out the problem so i can fix it? im also having problems with the nut at the end of the mag tube coming loose constantly along with the choke itself coming loose. HELP PLEASE

First thing I would do is make sure the firearm is unloaded and lube the action with a good amount of oil then work it about 20 times to make sure the oil gets worked in. The nut on the end of the mag tube can be secured with a little bit of Loctite BLUE... http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/10/15/ ... ue-242.htm Please let me know how this remedy works for you... |

They need lube like shooter stated very good. The loose barrel nut is a different story. Remington will send you a new nut and spring retainer there is a update. Mine is in the mail.Good luck.
If you can't sell it don't buy it

the shell carrier is dragging on the cast aluminum trigger group.
disassemble the firearm, removing the trigger group. Now move the shell carrier up and down and look for any place it is dragging on the cast aluminum. Clean this area up with your wife's nail file and you should be good to go.
