Help identify this part? Did it come from my 870?

I found a part on my table after putting a Mesa Tactical side saddle on my Remington 870. Can anybody identify it? I'm worried it came from my trigger assembly. However, it may come from another gun, or just some other random job I've done in my garage.

I found the answer on another forum. It's a detent that is used to keep the magazine extension tube tight.

there should be a spring that goes with that part too
