Looks like a good, basic GI mil-spec with slightly better sights. Pretty plain.

MSRP $789

How will it compare (and compete) against the Ruger 1911 that is built entirely of 100% Made in America parts I suppose time will tell. The Ruger has a beavertail grip safety, Novak rear sight, extended slide stop and thumb safety, adjustable skeleton trigger, probably the best Customer Service in the business.

MSRP $799
An ATI stock set on a 1955 16-ga Wingmaster would make Baby Jesus cry...........

I preordered one from my local dealer in January. I contacted Remington about the shipping date of the R1S Stainless on March 12th. They stated that the stainless were shipping already. They said that once all pre orders were filled they would begin to show them in inventory for sale. Once i get mine ill post pictures etc.

I just wanted to give you guys an update. I contacted my local dealer, and their distributor still has NOT received the 1911's. At this point I have no idea when it's coming in. I ended up buying a Kimber Pro Carry II stainless to scratch the itch. Whenever the Remington Stainless comes in I'll post the pictures.

Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately the gun shop I bought from was broken into over night. I won't have the stainless for a few days. I'll update when I receive it.

I put 200 rounds through it, loved the feel of the gun. Trigger was smooth and the grouping was tight. I had 5 ftf, but that's partially my fault as I did not field strip and clean the weapon before going to the range. I have already done so, and will be going again in a few days.

Below are some more pictures:
