Hi,
New to the forum. I purchased a new 700 three weeks ago. Went to fire it today, the bolt won't drop down all the way. Even without a round in the chamber the bolt won't drop once it's pushed forward.

Even if I place the round in the chamber, slide the bolt forward and drop the bolt, it only drops about 1/3", not fully into the stock.

The trigger does pull and click but there's no impression in the primer.

If u mounted a scope make sure the screws for the base aren't too long cause they will hit the bolt.

Thanks! Cabelas mounted the scope for me and yes, the screws were to long on the front mount.

I called and they took care of me, mailed new screws taped to a $25 gift card.
