Hello from Southern Commiefornia. I just found this forum by doing a search for a buddy that has a Marlin and found a Marlin forum. Well my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to check if Remington had one and low and behold. Anyway, enough of that.

About two years ago, I bought a rifle from a friend of mine before I really knew much about guns. At that time the only gun I owned was a Glock 21SF. Now my collection is steadily growing and my knowledge base is a little better too. Now on topic, when I bought this particular rifle, I had no idea what it was and I bought it for $200. My friend told me it was a .270. On New Years day 2011, I shot it for the first time. Id say I put about 20 rounds through it that day and yes I used the .270 ammo. I had not touched it since then and just put it away and almost forgot about it. About a week ago, something told me to pull it out and I gave it a good look over. I pulled it out and found out that it is a Remington 742 Woodsmaster 30-06 not a .270 . Its amazing what you will find out with a little bit of knowledge haha. But anyway, I guess its ok to send 270 rounds through a 30-06 without messing things up.

Thanks you guys. A little about my little icon pic first. The picture is of my wife shooting her M&P 40C and me coaching her from behind. I am one of the lucky guys that has a great wife that likes guns and encourages my ownership.
Second I am including a couple pictures of a couple of my guns. My first one is me with my Remington 742, and the second one is the AR-15 that my son and I built. I will include other pictures in time.
