I love this shotgun, and it loves to eat! Had some issues right out of the box, (topic32-10.html) but now she performs flawlessly.

My wife 5'5" 120lbs even loves to shoot it, good for peace of mind while I am away. Best thing of all the pump shotgun is an excellent interpreter, no matter what language you speak she is understood loud and clear when cycled.

The 887 has received some bad press, but we are happy with ours. Spent our 7th year anniversary shooting all kinds of shells (i.e. destroyed some stuff).

Its great to hear that you were able to work out the issues with your Remington 887 Tactical! Looks like you guys had some fun destroying things today. Congratulations on your 7th anniversary; sounds like you have one great lady.

All of this started with my 2011 valentines day present to her, a S&W M&P 15-22. At first she had mixed feelings, because she had never shot anything other than a BB Gun before. I explained to her my intent behind the rifle, I am away from home a lot and we live in the country. Use this to keep away venomous snakes or rabid animals! You mean the world to me and I want you to be safe while I am away. I started her off .22LR small for a reason, did not want to scare her right out of the gate.

I spent some time teaching her gun safety and good shooting habits. When I felt she was ready I left her alone and told her to have fun. I went into the house with the kids, a couple hours later she came in smiling. It was not long before she was extremely comfortable with her little .22LR. I was away on military duty and she sends me a pic/text of a cotton mouth she shot. It was in the front yard striking at the dogs. Man was she proud, "it was a very empowering feeling knowing I could defend myself and the kids while you are gone" she said. I knew I had created a monster ... LOL

Eventually I handed her my AR-15, which was very similar to her M&P 15-22. She liked it so much she did not want to give it back, so I gave it to her. Of course she felt bad for taking my rifle, so she bought me a M1A (SOCOM 16) for my birthday.

A little while later we saw the 887 Tactical sitting in the display case at our local gun store, and the rest is history! She asked me if I could get her a 9mm hand gun and send her to a concealed carry class for her birthday, I can not tell you how proud I was of my little city girl.
