This is the penetration of a #6 pellet from a 3.5in 12ga shell. This is on a 1in slat of pine, used to post up patterning targets. As you can see, the pellet is still perfectly round, even after impact. This notes not only the hardness, but the density that these great loads deliver to the bone and vitals of the game hunted.

That picture really shows how much power these rounds hold. Nice capture.

For Turkey my new favorite load is Remington Nitro. I patterned my shotgun with 2 loads from Winchester and 1 box of Remington Nitros. 3", #6 shot. That ended up being the best combo with my gun, Jelly Head choke and Burris FastFireII red dot scope, so I took it out on our Youth Turkey Season here in Iowa. The picture shows the results of our efforts....was about a 25 yards shot. Seemed longer, but I didn't actually step it off in all the excitement. Thanks for making a quality load.

Out of my m700,i love core lokt 165gr psp. Alot of deer have been taken with that fine bullet. Only 1 buck ever got back up and ran for about 40yds. The rest were drt.(dead right there)lol Alot of my buddies reload annd spend all kinds of money on exotic bullets, but they have nothing to say when i tell them about the cor lokt bullet working so well for me. Yes i can get a little tighter group with my own handloads, but a half inch doesnt make much difference to a deer.

I agree, the CorLokt Remington is a superb hunting bullet, and has been for half a decade. For most North American game it is all anyone really needs and CorLokt ammo is priced very reasonably.

I agree nitesight,a few years ago i took a nice black bear, one shot and he went 25yds and was down.I did move up to the corlokt 180gr for him though. When i recovered the bullet,it had perfect expansion and retaind all its weight. I was impressed to say the least.

I have hundreds of Remington Core-Lokt bullets that I hand load. Remington doesn't make a decent 7x57 round, which is my main deer rifle, so I hand load 7x57 with 140 or 150 grain Core-Lokt's.

I hate to say my rifles and I have liked the "X" better and both are very difficult to find in my area. Only feds and horn s are widely available and I don't like either. 180 g for both my 30.06 and 300 win mag.

I haven't been able to hunt with my 700 in .30-06, but I do have to agree with the 165 grain PSP's. I can get just over MOA with the 150's, but easily sub-MOA with the 165's. Have not tried the 180's yet, but I would bet my rifle tends to like the heavier bullets. ;)

Remington Core-Lokt .308 WIN 150 grain Pointed Soft-Point is what I've hunted with for more than 50 years. Shattered the heart of a 300 lb Red Russian Boar down at the Kennedy Ranch on Baffin Bay / Laguna Madre on a gusty day at 325 yds. One shot, one kill. That's the only way I hunt and the Core-Lokt has guaranteed me that attitude. Never needed that follow-up shot thanks to such uniform & reliable expansion of the PSP bullet. Used 180 grain on the 900 lb moose back in the 60's. He fell without a step and never knew what hit him. Not to mention a 425 lb Nilgai at 400 yds. You can't argue with an accurate & consistent bullet.
Remington Golden Bullet, and Remington/Eley Club Extra work for me for varmint and plinking. Target work too!
Remington Express Extra Long Range is the best for my Remington Model 11 Sportsman 12 Ga w/ recoiling barrel (Browning A-5 action) and the quick adjusting Poly-choke.
