New CEO at Remington

I read Remington now has a new CEO that worked for Taurus up until recently. Does not sound promising! Forgot his name but anyone else have any info to share? Remington need a real expert we all know to turn things around. out of bankruptcy since end of May I read. Is J.P. Morgan forgiving debt for shares instead?

Least maybe now Remington will know how to handle their 700 trigger recall.

We need a CEO who is a hunter and outdoorsman, not an accountant. If they wanted to make a splash and respectable, they should get a front man like Craig Boddington. Smart enough to point the company in the right direction, and especially smart enough to know what he doesn't know. And then get the right people.

Correct Scorpion! At a desperate time like this Remington needs the best to turn things around. Build quality guns people will buy. I have always been happy with mine from the late 70s and early 80s as far as craftsmanship and functionality. |

Ditto. My 22's are all from the Golden Age. I do own a 597M, but it seems like Remington makes those as a "me too" instead of a dedication to the rimfire. Let's hope they listen to us. NRA Life, NAHC Life, Retired USN

Yep mine too from early 80s Scorpion. My 1100 has functioned perfectly through many years of trap shooting. My 84 made 700 looks custom compared to most synthetic matte finished stuff out there today. That 597M caught my eye too but I went with a Ruger American Compact 22 mag. instead. Hoping for a miracle for Remington as far as quality and sales.

When it was decided my first rifle was between two options a rifle Sako 75 caliber .375 H & H and a Remington 700 in cal. .338 Win. Mag., The difference in money at that time was very little, opt for the Remington, which I currently own, and honestly I do not regret anything about the decision I make.
