Can someone tell me what is the result of Remington's financial situation? Here in my country what little is said is about people who know little about the subject.

I'll give you my opinion as a casual observer and none of it is probably not any more factually correct than those opinions you'll get in Argentina.

Remington became a publicly traded company in the stock market. That means there are a lot of "investors".

Those investors are out to make as much money as they can. Despite many being totally ignorant of anything firearm related. Their main interest is making themselves money.

Over the years, Remington quality has decreased. Both in the quality of the parts, fit and finish, and all other matters.

This has hurt Remington in may ways. Primarily the reduction in sales because the quality is not as high as it previously has been.

Another has been political. I am not going to get too political in my post but only a fool would ignore that there hasn't been as much pressure on banning guns as in years past. So, this also goes into consideration for why some of the demand is lower than at other times also resulting in reduced sales.

So, with reduced income, Remington has declared to the banks that they are having financial problems and asked the courts to allow them to restructure a bunch of bank loans.

So, Remington and all of their other firearm companies that they own (there are more than a half dozen other companies that they own) can either fix their financial problems, or they will do like any other company and sell off their assets in an attempt to satisfy their lenders.

Also appreciate the comments. Seems too cost cutting measures have increased problems in QC as well as increased costs in manufacturing using walnut and overall fit and finish of some models. Sure sounds like companies like Savage and Ruger are in better shape these days. Sure hope things get fixed.

It's probably not fair to compare the two, but Ruger hasn't just sat on its' laurels and continue to produce the same things with no real recent innovations.

Ruger has actually developed and manufactured several new models in just the last 10 years alone.

Remington has purchased many different companies in the last 10 years and then turned around and ceased production from most of them.

And I don't really consider the Rem Tac series of firearms to be their idea as much as I do just following along the coat tails of Mossberg did with the shockwave because that's essentially what Remington did in my humble opinion about it.

I have manufactured weapons of good quality to excellent. Never would have entered to compete in the market with economic weapons. On the contrary, I would have competed with excellence in my weapons.
