Hello Everyone, I am an old Remington user since my first .22 rifle (Nylon 76 Lever action) as a Christmas present from my Dad in 1962. Have more since then and love them all. I enjoy both rifle and handgun shooting. Looking forward to some interesting posts and conversations.

When people ignorant of guns make gun laws, you end up with ignorant gun laws.

Welcome and glad to have you. Always like the Remington line from the past with great wood and bluing. Shoot an 1100 TB for trap and got a 84 made 700 along with a Model Four in .270 Sure wish I lived in Utah!

Welcome aboard! Another rimfire lover here. Just picked up a newish 572 that I can't wait to try out.

I also have a Model 552 and was looking at a 572 a month ago but they wanted way to much for it. I plan on getting a 572 when i find one at the right price.

Same here. I would like to find a 552 but other than gun shows they are like "hens teeth" to find at LGS. I believe many holding onto their older Remington models from the 60s and 70s and I don't blame them. Sure seems we are in a different era these days concerning build quality and stock material. Have to admit I am happy with my new Ruger but an older 552 or 572 would cover the bases for me.

reply to Mauser9, about your interest in a 552. I found mine in almost new condition about 1 year ago from a pawn shop. Either I was very lucky or I have to much time on my hands wandering around pawn shops. I also found a 572 in the worst shape I have ever seen at another pawn shop. They wanted as much for that as the almost new one I bought a few days earlier. I couldn't even bring myself to try to negotiate a better price than what was being asked.

Thanks for reply. Often tough to find out my way except at gun shows where prices are usually steep as with other guns. Have not fired one since around 1970! Unfortunate how many fine guns suffer from neglect through poor storage or lack of a decent cleaning.
