The inside of the barrel of my RM380 is rough from inadequate machining. At first glance it appears to be dirty but cleaning does not help. I took it to the shop where I bought it and the gunsmith there tried to clean it and then realized it was not machined smooth. I sent it in for repair because the magazine release button fell out. They sent it back with the button fixed and said "no other issues." I sent it back saying I wanted another barrel and they sent another BARREL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM! I called today and they basically said that this is a common problem with the barrels and they know the machine is "chattering" and they won't fix it. Has anyone else had this problem? I've searched this site and can't find any similar complaints. I am not happy with Remington.

Machine chatter is a result of worn out, dull tooling.
Yes, I'm aware that Remington has filed for bankruptcy, but hearing stories like this pisses me off. Dwallace, I'm sorry that you have had to go through this like this. When people ignorant of guns make gun laws, you end up with ignorant gun laws.

Thanks. I'm just surprised that more people aren't reporting this problem. The supervisor I talked to said that this was common in the barrels, that it didn't affect the function and that's why they wouldn't send a smooth barrel. They asked me if it affected the accuracy but it's hard to tell because it's a pocket pistol and of course it's not as accurate as my larger guns. But thats not the point. It's hard to keep clean and a new gun shouldn't have this problem. At this point I wouldn't recomend anyone buying the RM 380 which is too bad because I like the gun - including the long hard trigger pull and the takedown pin. I think the pin makes it easy to take apart and put back together and I've never had a problem with it coming out unexpectedly. Sad for Remington employees. They won't make it
